Back to Basic – BBC programming

The Centre for Computing History informed us:

Join us for an introduction to BBC BASIC programming. This is a language no longer used in today’s gaming world, but the fundamentals of programming have not changed, making this workshop still very relevant today. Indeed, there are many similarities between BBC BASIC and modern languages like Python.

Jason, our museum director, will be teaching you the basics of coding in BBC BASIC, using the BBC Micros in our 80’s Classroom.

This workshop is aimed at children aged 10+ and is ideal for children at the upper KS2 and KS3 levels.

The fee is £14 per participant in this workshop. For participants under the age of 14, we require an accompanying adult to attend the workshop alongside them. Accompanying adult tickets can be purchased for the normal museum entry price of £10.

Though the workshop is a timed event, your tickets enable you to explore the museum for the whole day!

Date: Thursday 28th July 2022
Time: 11am-12:30pm

This workshop will start at 11am promptly, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early.
