In the Keyboard (US) magazine, an extended article was published on (hardware) samplers. Prices, features and performance were tested and compared. The article give a great insight in the first decade of hardware sampling and -foremost- the limited capabilities at that time. However: the Fairlight and Synclavier, as well as huge EMU machines were available already Technology developed quicly and the user was overwhelmed with sampling and editing possibilities …. sometimes against high costs.
