This is what we found in an 1976 Radio Shack Catalog. We do know about some IC’s that were designed for Sound synthesis and incorporation in computers, such as the AY-3-8910 series.
We found out that these IC’s are both from Texas Instruments. The Music Synthesizer IC is a complex sound generator (documents below) and the 76488 is the same device with built in audio amplifier.
